The T20 World Cup 2024 league stages conclude with the 40th match of the Group C fixtures between West Indies and Afghanistan on June 18 (Tuesday, according to IST). Out of 20 participating nations, eight teams successfully secured their spots in the Super 8 groups of the ongoing tournament and are set for another battle to seal their positions for the four-semi-final spot in the forthcoming stage.
The Super 8 stages of the T20WC 2024 commence with an intense clash between the United States vs South Africa on June 19 (Wednesday) at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, in West Indies.

Which Teams have Qualified for the Super Eight Rounds of the T20 World Cup 2024?
In the ninth edition of the T20 World Cup in 2024, India and USA (Group A), Australia and England (Group A), Afghanistan and West Indies (Group C), South Africa and Bangladesh (Group D) were the eight teams to join the most prestigious stages of the tournament.
Notably, Bangladesh became the last team to join the Super 8s after achieving a 21-run victory against Nepal on June 16 (according to the date and timings in the West Indies).
As of June 17, India, Australia, West Indies, Afghanistan, and South Africa are the only five unbeaten teams to progress into the Super 8s. Whereas, the USA and England, despite their corresponding losses to India and Australia in group stages, advanced into the next stages of the tournament.
T20 World Cup 2024 Super Eight Fixtures: 8 Teams in 2 different groups
Here is how ICC categorized 8 qualifying teams into two different groups in the Super 8 stages:
- Group 1: (Winner of Group A and Group C)+ (Runner-Up of Group B and Group D).
- Group 2: (Runner-Up of Group A and Group C) + (Winner of Group B and Group D).
Although Australia currently ranks as the table toppers in Group B, they qualified for the Super Eights considered as runner-up due to the ICC’s seeding concept, since the matches for Super 8s have been pre-determined. According to the ICC’s pre-determined seeding concept, England as the defending champions qualifies as “B1” and Australia as “B2”, irrespective of the current ranking position.
If the predicted teams fail to qualify, then the current qualifying team will be replaced with the pre-decided ones.
