The ECB (England and Wales Cricket Board) and the BCCI () gave an official confirmation regarding the 5-match test series between England and India. The series for both men’s and women’s cricket teams will be held simultaneously across the UK.

India will be touring England for this upcoming test series from June 20 to August 04, which will mark the beginning of the World Test Championship Cycle (WTC) 2025-27.

The series opener takes place from June 20 to June 24 and will be hosted by Headingley in Leeds. Subsequently, the second test match will be played at Edgbaston in Birmingham (from July 2 to July 6), and the third at Lord’s Stadium (from July 10 to July 14). Whereas, Old Trafford in Manchester will host the fourth test match (from July 23 to July 27) and the final match of the series (from July 31 to August 4) at the Oval in London in the same order.

Team India would be set for its first tour of England since 2022. Previously, India lastly participated in an overseas test series against England in 2021-22 after the rescheduling of the final test from Manchester to Birmingham. However, the hosts won the last test match to draw the series by a 2-2 margin. Earlier, India won the 5-match home test series against England by 4-1 this year.

The Women’s limited-overs series between England and India is scheduled from June 28 to July 22, comprising 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is.

It is understood that England will have a busy summer home season next year scheduled from 22nd May to 14th September.

ECB CEO Gives a Statement About England’s Home Season

The ECB CEO Richard Gould gave an official statement about England’s upcoming home season:

“Excited! Hosting the men’s and women’s test series for England alongside each other has created popularity with fans. It contributed to the growth of women’s cricket in terms of both Ashes in the previous year and the Pakistan series earlier this year which proved to be successful.  I’m delighted that we will be repeating the same once again for the West Indies and India series as well for the next year. It is a real treat for cricket fans and I hope they’ll be out in large numbers to support both men’s and women’s teams.

Moreover, when the Indian cricket team is touring to play matches in other countries, it marks an exciting event for that cricket summer. The previous men’s test series was a hard-fought contest, and I’m certain that the clash would become much more intriguing. Also, the women’s series was highly competitive. I’m thrilled that we’ll be receiving both West Indies teams back again for the limited-overs series, following the men’s test series this year,” Richard Gould said. He conveys that the Indian women’s team will travel to England in 2026 to participate in the inaugural women’s test at Lord’s.
