PSL 2019: Six players to watch

PSL 2019: The fourth edition of the Pakistan Super League will start from Thursday. PSL 2019 will run from February 14 to March 17 with 34 matches to be played this year. 

Last year, Islamabad United defeated Peshwar Zalmi in the final to win the PSL 2018 trophy. It was the second PSL title for Islamabad United, who had also won the inaugural season in 2015. Peshawar Zalmi had won the 2016 season.

As in the past three seasons, PSL 2019 will also feature some of the biggest names in T20 cricket. These stars are set to make the 4th edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL) exciting. Here are the six players from each team to watch out for in PSL 2019.

AB de Villiers (Lahore Qalandars)

There is no doubt that AB de Villiers is the biggest star in PSL 2019. Mr 360 retired from international cricketer last year and will make his PSL debut for Lahore Qalandars this year.

Everybody is aware of what ABD can do on a cricket field and Lahore Qalandars will hope he leads them to glory in PSL 2019.

Colin Ingram (Karachi Kings)

Colin Ingram

Colin Ingram is one the most destructive T20 players and it was already reflected in his Rs 6.4 crore tage during Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019 auction. Before joining Delhi Capitals for IPL, Ingram will be hoping to secure succes with Karachi Kings in PSL 2019.

Shane Watson (Quetta Gladiators)

Australian all-rounder Shane Watson has been a part of Quetta Gladiators over the last two editions. He scored 319 runs in 10 matches in the previous season. Watson, who played a starring role in Chennai Super Kings’ win at IPL 2018, will be hoping to take the Quetta Gladiators side to similar success.  

Sandeep Lamichhane (Lahore Qalandars)

Sandeep Lamichhane is slowly earning an exellent reputation. The young leg-spinner from Nepal was quite impressive for Melbourne Stars in his debut Big Bash League season picking up 13 wickets. Now he will make his Pakistan Super League (PSL) debut this year for Lahore Qalandars. 

Babar Azam (Karachi Kings)

Pakistan’s Babar Azam is currently the No.1 batsman in ICC T20I Rankings. He has developed in one of the biggest stars of Pakistan cricket in a short time. With his healthy T20I average of 41.01, he will be one of the key players for Karachi Kings.

Andre Russell (Multan Sultans)

Andre Russell is one the biggest T20 players in world these days. The Windies all-rounder has made his name in Indian Premier League (IPL), Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), Carribean Premier League (CPL), T10 League etc as dangerous batsman and very useful pace bowler. Russell will be a key player for the Multan side who are into their second season.
